It’s Art

PITCH The idea is that Procreate, the drawing software, partnered with Feeding America to raise money for the cause by creating the “It’s Art” campaign. It features limited edition merchandise around food.

EARLY CONCEPTS

I draw and wanted to find a way to mash art and design together. I started out with the drawing of the sandwich, see to the right in the collage of influences for this project.

I originally thought of making a food ad that someone may see driving by on the highway on their way home from work, feel hungry, then look at it and realize it wasn’t food but art.

I thought about how this digital drawing program I use, Procreate, has become so admired by the art world not only because of how easy it is to use but how realistic you can make something look.

You’ll notice the social media ad for instance has a drawing tip - I wanted to incorporate art education (being a former art teacher). (See drawing skills inspo on right from lesson sheets)

I also love literal language in ads and was inspired by Oatly’s ads. In addition, I love non-profits and thus thought I would find a way to integrate a cause into this campaign.
