more info This was my first project I was assigned when I started working at Broadway Cares. To say I was excited to design a marquee for the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square is an understatement. The ad was to promote that a portion of Hard Rock Cafe’s pride month drinks would be donated to Broadway Cares. I quickly decided rainbow would be a big design component. Since this design would be only shown for a few seconds, there had to be smooth and quick transitions from one point to another. The rainbow would then spread out to reveal the text. The rainbow splitting to yellow at the end was a late addition, but an important one so it could loop.

Even though I was provided a template for the specs, it was still challenging to work with a shape as specific as that marquee because my text had to be placed on a curve and the additional elements such as our logo had to be centered so they wouldn’t get cut off.
