more info This was a singlet I designed for those who ran to support Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS in the New York City Marathon. This was a new and fun process. I had designed merchandise before but never a singlet. That made it a bit of a scary process to start. How would I know what it looks like? What helped was having a sample of a singlet from the manufacturer I could hold and touch. I then started researching examples of singlets. I was told to make it bright so our runners could be spotted in the sea of runners. As you can see in my early sketches and concepts, I tried multiple color options and began to favor one design I had with the ribbon. After learning how prominent our logo had to be, I soon learned that this design would clash with our logo. After working on the design for weeks, I had asked if I could try something in the sides because I felt like I was close and I wanted the design to be completely my own. The text on the back came from our copywriter on the team. Overall this process was a very enriching experience for me.
